Unwanted hairs can be removed permanently by electrolysis. In this a needle is inserted into hair follicle and an electrical pulse is sent through the needle. If this hair follicle is in the active growth stage at the time of treatment, it will probably not grow again.
The growth will not occur because electrical pulse causes localized damage to the areas that generate hair
Types of Electrolysis
Galvanic electrolysis
In this process a small amount of sodium hydroxide is produced by the chemical reaction of salt and water which damages the cell that cause hair growth.
Thermolysis
In this water molecules vibrate around the probe in the skin. Thus the heat produced damages the cells that cause hair growth.
Blend
It is based on the fact that sodium hydroxide is more caustic when it is heated and thus blend is more useful than other methods. Hair can be removed from every part of the body except from inside of the nose and ears.
Side-effect
Swelling, pain and redness are the side effects of electrolysis. Scabs may appear which results in infection and swelling. It is also painful depending upon the coarness of hair being removed.
